It is always an honor to work with brands that value custom music, so when UBTech had me score there new JIMU commercial, I was really excited. They wanted a score that was between a pop track and inspirational orchestral track, that grows over time as the children grow. Instead of saying more about the commercial, score, and brand (if you don’t already know them), you can check out the commercial below::
Sometimes my work as a music producer, Electropoint, intersects with my work as a film composer. I was honored to produce the track and score the music video for reality TV Star and formidable artist Honey Davenport’s “Draw the Blood”. Not only was Honey amazing to work with (again!) but Aja (from Ru Paul’s Drag Race) also came on board. The song debuted at #26 on the iTunes Dance Charts. Couldn’t be more happy to do a song that blends classical, pop, edm, and hiphop all to drive home a meaningful message.
Scoring Misha Calvert’s series on BRIC TV, All Hail Beth, was an absolute highlight for me. And while I absolutely love the music that Misha got out of me, I am so grateful that so many other people felt the same way – enough so that it debuted at #25 on the iTunes Soundtrack charts. Sincere gratitude for everyone who listened to it. And if you’d like to grab your copy, you can do so here.
I was truly grateful to have scored the highly-acclaimed film ‘Darkest Age’ by Australian production company Other-Side Films. While the picture has done so well at all of the festivals it has been in so far, rarely do festivals have score categories – so I was honored to be an honorable mention at the NY Film Awards for Best Score. Since the film is still screening at festivals around the world there is no link to the full film, but you can check out the trailer here.
I had the absolute pleasure of composing the film score for the award-winning production company Other-Side Films’ “Darkest Age”. Truly honored that it won Best Indie the world’s leading online festival, Top Shorts. Rather than give away the tone of the score, you can check out the trailer here.
It’s not all pianos and strings over here. In addition to writing music for films, television, and commercials, I am also producing a lot of music for celebrities under the producer moniker Electropoint. My latest song, “No Day Like Today feat. Electropoint”, for reality tv star and recording artist Adam Barta and Lovari hit #26 on the Billboard Dance Club charts. As of the time of this post, we’ve been on the charts for 3 weeks and climbing.
I have had the good fortune to work with countless Ru Paul’s Drag Race Contestants, but I rarely get to talk about the work I do publicly. We truly, truly honored to be interviewed by Michel Cook over at World of Wonder Report about my work for these reality tv stars as well as all of my film scoring, and the overlap between them. You can read the full article here.
Being the film composer for Huracán was, in itself, incredibly rewarding. However, there is nothing quite like seeing a glowing review by such a major publication. The New York Times gave us such a incredible writeup. You can check out the article here I’m just blown away to see such an incredible writeup in the New York Times.
Frequently my work as a music producer overlaps with my work as a film composer. It is most common when scoring major brand commercials, and such was the case with the most recent one for the global cosmetic brand Kiehl’s. The greatest part about this commercial is that it is starring K-Pop’s Hwang Chi-Yeul. Scoring a commercial with such a famous musician presents a series of challenges (will they like it? does it resonate with their aesthetic?), but luckily it was directed by an agency I work with regularly.
